Co-Creation: Next Steps

Growth is never by mere chance; it is the result of forces working together.
James Cash Penney

The Reflect Growth community is just over 3 weeks old and we’ve been so pleased to see so many wonderful educators sharing knowledge and expertise.  I’ve now finished putting the final touches to the tools we will need to pull together our view on what quality teaching looks like.  I’ve taken the research I’ve done, chopped it up and served it into bite size morsels so that you can decided what to keep, what to throw out and what order things should go in (from easy – to more advance teaching skill sets).

I’m really excited to get started on this important work and I’m thrilled to see such a cross section of teachers from varying stages in their careers and from different places in he world, ready to join in with the discussion.

If you’re one of the (just over) 60 people who have now signed up to the site you might want to decide whether you would like to be a part of this important conversation.  If so,  there are two things that you need to do before Friday the 20th March.

  1. Please head to your profile and click “edit”.  From there you will notice a new tab called “agreements”. Click it.  You will see that there is now an option to accept a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that will enable us to operate within the context of the correct ethical and social protocols (Ah! General Capability for ICT and APsFT 4.5).  You need to have read and accepted that agreement by checking the appropriate box and choosing to save changes.
  2. Make sure that you are a member of the “Co-Creators” group. This group will become to portal to all of the exclusive content that those who have agreed to the NDA  can access.
As soon as everyone in there has hit that box we’ll open up the content. That’s also why there’s a time limit on this process.  To make it fair, we will have to temporarily remove anyone from the group who hasn’t managed to tick the box.  That way we can get started 🙂

There will also be an opportunity for all Co-Creators to attend a morning Professional Development Session in Adelaide.  Details are below:

Don’t think for one moment that if you can’t attend the PD session we’re not interested in your input online.  The in person session is a bonus, a thank you (with cake and photographers) and an extension to what we’re setting up in the Co-Creators group. We are more than happy to provide certificates for the time you  spend online working through the quizzes.  That’s PD too that you can add to your hours and we’re still going to provide online virtual meet ups for those of you who are not in Adelaide or can’t make it face to face.  Keep an eye out in the Co-Create group for more information.

I can’t wait to share what we’ve already done with you so that we can start making a difference to our own professional learning.  I’m really looking forward to learning from and with all of you!
