Here’s a list of professional development being offered by Reflect Growth, Teacher Technologies and other local organisation and consultants who’d like to share their offerings with our community.

Don’t forget that all courses run by Reflect Growth or Teacher Technologies are led by Selena Woodward and proceeds from the paid courses are going to be put straight back into the Reflect Growth project.  If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to contact @selena or @matt. The organisations who advertise here are helping to spread the word about our community by linking to us from their website.  A big thank you to them! 🙂 If you’re interested in adding your PD to this list then don’t hesitate to get in touch 🙂

Adding images, videos, certificates (and any other kind of evidence you can think of)
    Formatting your text
Adding in (or removing) social media settings
Creating pages for your personal statement, about me and philosophy
How to use the security settings to lock down content
Ideas about what to write and include

She will show examples of Edufolios created by members who have given us permission to share and answer all of your questions. Selena’s been using blogs for years to capture her evidence of practice and she has some great practical tips to help you become really efficient at finding opportunities to reflect, and how to do so with teacher registration and career progression in mind 🙂

The Theme – Digital Technologies (and our favourite buzz word.. STEM)

The details of this event are a little rough around the edges but, we thought we might start the year exploring some content and development opportunities around how we’re all working with the digital technologies curriculum and planning for STEM.

I’m imagining that we can share some of the decisions we’re making about spendng funding and swap ideas around curriculum planning and resources.  Please email me or message me through RG is you’re keen to present any thoughts.

Special Guests

I’m also pleased to announce that local Startup STEMTAP are going to pop in and show you their innovative learning resources.  They’re looking for teachers to collaborate with, and to trail, their systems. They’ve got resources and ideas from primary to secondary and are creating something you and your students can design, 3D print and create with.

Pirates. Risktakers. Connectors – The Ethics & Protocols of the ICT Gen Cap

Adelaide, SA | EDC, Milner St, Hindmarsh |   $165

Saturday 29th April 2017 from 9.00am – 4.00pm

In this whole day session we’re going to narrow our thoughts down onto one of the sub domains of the ICT General Capability -Applying Social and Ethical Protocols. Come and join me as weunpack the essentials and the statutory requirements of using ICT in your classroom with your students.

In the morning we’ll explore questions such as:

  1. What is this ICT General Capability? Why is it so important for our students?
  2. What’s in the ASEPPs section? What should have happened before I start working with my students (in prior years of the curriculum?) What should I be covering? What will their teacher expect my students to know next academic year?
  3. What is your current practice? Are we covering it right? What gaps are immerging? Let’s set ourselves a goal.
  4. How does intellectual property affect how we teach and the resources we use with our students? What do we need to know so that we can model great ethical and social skills? What can we do to empower our students to have a deep understanding of ownership in the digital age

After lunch we’ll tackle:

  1. What kinds of ‘risks’ should students be taking when using ICT?
  2. How do we help them to make calculated risks?
  3. How can we connect with safe  ‘unknown” audiences?
  4. What do we need to teach them about being ‘safe’?
  5. What are the impacts of ICT in society? Where in the curriculum can this be explored?
  6. How do we plan to cover the Gen Capability?
  7. What audit tools and examples are there for me to use?

A certificate will be issued for 8 hours of Professional development covering the following APSFTs
